Two days with the White Rabbit!

Alice might be my new favorite Disney character. I had so much fun working with her the last two days. I was friends with the White Rabbit. He and Alice do meet and greets with guests over by the teacup ride!

When I got to Magic Kingdom yesterday morning, I had no idea what to do or where to go. Just one of the many challenges of working in Entertainment! Once I got all checked in, I found out I would be doing the Welcome Show at 9! For those of you who don't know (which included me until yesterday) the Welcome Show happens every morning. The characters ride the train from Fantasyland to the train station at the very front of the park! They wave at all the guests waiting to enter the park and then Mickey starts a countdown from 10 all the way to 0! When the countdown ends, confetti is launched and the gates are opened! It was so cool to be able to participate in this on my second day!

After the Welcome Show, some of the characters walk down Main Street, back to whichever land they will remain in for the day. Since I am a new kid, the Fairy Godmother walked with me back to my offset location. How many people can say that?! It was pretty exciting. This particular Fairy Godmother has been working for the company for over 30 years and played Snow White in Disney World's early years. While we were walking, we made small talk and then she asked me if I had been fitted for Alice yet. I told her no, and that I was not being considered for a face role. She was not happy about this. She went on and on about how angry it made her when Casting does not select people that would be perfect for certain roles and how I definitely should have been considered for Alice. Everything she said made me feel a lot better about this whole experience, even though now I will be slightly more envious of everyone who actually gets to live out the dreams I have had. She then told me to consider Disneyland Tokyo because there would be a lot more opportunity for me there with only a 6 month contract. So who knows, maybe that will be next year's adventure? ;)

I spent all day with Alice and the White Rabbit at the teacup ride. It was so much fun. I really enjoyed being able to see how the face characters interact with their guests. I also shared a break room with Merida, Pooh, and Tigger. We had about 20 people in a tiny little room. That sure was interesting. Merida is hilarious. I love her accent. All of her attendants also have accents which was very amusing.

I really like the White Rabbit costume. It has been a nice break for my body from the Pooh costume. The rabbit costume is not nearly as heavy, so I am very grateful for my resting time the passed two days. I am, however, very nervous about returning to my friend Pooh tomorrow for the same shift I had Monday. That was tough stuff. I can do it though! :) And hey, now I know my way around TWO parks! Yay!

I survived my first day!

First off, before I forget. The garbage disposal in my apartment is fixed! I know you were all SO worried! So now your minds can be put at ease :)

So today was my first day on my own! No trainers and no training group! I was super nervous this morning. Let's just go through my whole day, shall we?

I was supposed to be at work at 12 today. That means I had to catch a bus at 11:06 to Epcot, so I needed to leave the apartment by 10:50 to make it on time. I woke up with plenty of time to eat, pack my lunch, wash my face, and head to the bus stop. Only one tiny little problem.... Anyone heard of this little weather problem named Isaac? If you haven't, I will fill you in. Isaac is a hurricane. I have no experience with hurricanes. By the time it reached us, it was more of just a big rain storm with a lot of wind. Unfortunately, it brought a tornado warning with it, in effect until 11 AM this morning. Remember how I said I was supposed to walk to the bus at 10:50? Uh, yeah right! Instead, I spent about 20 minutes pacing in my apartment, checking Facebook, checking my email, checking the Hub (Disney employee website thingy), and checking the weather. I ended up driving to work and was about 30 minutes early which is perfect.

From 12 to 12:30 I was supposed to have a costume fitting. This fitting lasted all of 30 seconds. The costuming manager took one look at me and knew I was too small. I was kind of bummed because the costume was for the Duffy Bear! He is so cute! But, I would rather be in costumes that fit! After that, I pulled my costume for the day, went to warm-ups, got in a cool little van, and headed to my off-set location! Today I was friends with Pooh again. I told you he and I would be spending a lot of time together! This experience was very different because I got to hang out with Tigger too! Tigger is pretty funny. And people sure do like him! I had 5 sets today. The first set was 30 minutes and the other four were 45 minutes each. Yikes. The only sets I had done before today were 20 minutes at the most. Just another reason I was so nervous today!

Now for the best part: Memorable kids of the day! There are a few this time. Hopefully I remember them all! Alright. First kid. There was this precious little boy who kept kissing my nose! Normally, kids don't do this. But this kid just kept doing it! He would hug me, look up at me, back away about 5 inches, push my nose down very gently, and then give me a kiss on the nose! It was the sweetest thing. I wanted to keep him! He was probably 3 years old or so. He made me a very happy camper. Then, there was a baby girl. Her dad was holding her and he brought her over to give me a hug. She didn't really go for the hugging, which I understand. So we all posed for a picture. For this particular picture, I put both of my hands up to my mouth. The little girl was on my right, in her dad's arms. After the first flash of the camera, I feel her hands on my face, so I slide my hands over toward her and she holds onto my hands for the rest of the pictures! She was so adorable. It makes me feel good to have kids like me now! The last memorable child I want to talk about was not nearly as excited about Pooh as he was about Tigger! This boy was also a toddler. As soon as it was his turn, he ran straight for Tigger, who knelt down on one knee to catch him! It took him at least 30 seconds to decide he could let go. I think this is mostly because his parents kept saying, "Hey, why don't you give Pooh a hug, too?" So he let go, turned around, hugged me for a couple seconds, and then went right back to Tigger! He sure did love Tigger. This time, he didn't forget about me. He turned back around to hug me and then went back to Tigger. He must have done this at least 6 times. I almost started giggling in my costume. I just couldn't help it. Here was this little boy SO EXCITED to see Tigger! It was so cute. The only other kid that really stood out wasn't memorable for a good reason. He put a Mickey sticker on my nose, so I pulled it off and put it on his nose, so he put it on the back of my sweater. Little punk. I knew he did it, too. He did that thing where you rub your hand on someone's back so you can put a "kick me" sign or something on their back. If I could have reached my back or had a spare sticker within reach, I would have done it to him on the way out.

If someone had told me just how difficult this job would be before I auditioned, I honestly think there is a good chance I wouldn't have done it. I would have been really scared. I'm starting to have back problems that are only getting worse instead of easing up. I have to carry a 40 pound bag with me everywhere I go that is bigger around than my arms can reach. The costume is so heavy on my body and it is so hard to see and move around while wearing it. There are times that my body feels so stiff that I almost start crying. That being said, I don't regret my decision to take on this challenge. As I have said before, I know that it is so rewarding. It is so much fun to see little kids get excited to see you! Even though you aren't you. You are this character that they see on TV, or in their books, or as that one stuffed animal they sleep with every night. I honestly think this is the craziest job I will ever have.

On a side note... This was my dinner. Salad and a cheeseburger. AND, I got lucky and the kind people at Wendy's charged me for a half-size salad, but gave me the full-size! That is always so exciting! :) Tomorrow I am meeting the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland! Hopefully he isn't running late! Goodnight everyone! And have a magical day :D

Final training day!

Side note: Apartment life is treating me well with the exception of one factor! The garbage disposal in my apartment is broken so the whole apartment smells awful. To make things worse, my roommate and I are never home during office hours to call maintenance to get it fixed. It is very unpleasant.

Alright... Back on track! Today was my last day of training. It was bittersweet saying goodbye to the training group. It was very comforting to have the same 10 girls all four days. Our trainers changed every once in a while, but there were two trainers who were with us three days in a row. I have definitely made friends through this part of the experience and I'm very grateful for that!

I met a new friend today! Her name is Terk! She is Tarzan's very best friend. She is a lively teenage gorilla with a mind of her own. It was a lot of fun being friends with her today! She did some funny things. At one point, her character attendant starting singing "Trashing the Camp," and Terk started dancing! The people around thought it was really funny. Terk is very proud of her ability to sign her name. Jane taught her! Terk is a lot more out going than Pooh, so it was a lot of fun to experience that change!

My roommates came to visit me today, but I wasn't around. Instead they found Terk! :)

Story time! We did 3 sets today. Spending x-amount of time onstage (meet and greet) and then x-amount of time off stage (break time) is considered 1 set. During my very last set of the day, right before I went off stage, there was a little family with two children. Two very small children. The boy was a little older, maybe 4 or 5, and the little girl was 2 or 3. The little boy was SO excited to see me! He just wanted to high five me over and over again! His little sister, however, was terrified. By the time I looked over at her, she was balling. I felt so bad. I know it's because Terk is super weird looking. She was on my right side, so I put out my right arm, palm down. Her mom pet my arm and said, "See? She's soft!" The little girl was not buying it. So I keep my arm out, cover my eyes with my left hand, and turn my head away from her. I look back to see if she's calmed down, which she isn't, so I gave up. I went back to giving her brother high fives because he liked it so much. After a little bit, the parents told the kids it was time to go. I looked back over at the little girl and waved. Not the scary, high energy wave, but one of those finger-to-palm waves you give to little kids. And guess what she did? She looks up at me and says, "High five!!" I WAS SO EXCITED! So I gave her the best high five ever and she goes, "Okay, bye Terk!" It made me so happy. That was the best part of my whole day. Even though it was something so simple. I felt so accomplished for winning over that little girl. I took her from crying to smiling and that was so exciting. That's why I'm here. And that's why I'm going to keep going back! :)

First day out and about

Today was my first day working with Pooh outside, with a character attendant, and with guests. It was crazy for sure and not a day I will easily forget. My character attendant was awesome. He would make sure Pooh knew when small children were on his left or right. Bears can't always see things that are next to them! Especially Pooh bears that love honey so much!! He would also give Pooh a high five to let him know that he was going to go find Eeyore in five minutes. It was really cool working with an attendant. His job is SO MUCH harder than mine! He actually has to talk to people and know all the answers while managing the line, reminding guests to have pens, cameras, and autograph books ready, and keeping an eye on Pooh to make sure nothing bad happens!

Little fun fact for you: People LOVE Winnie the Pooh! I had know idea! I mean, I'm always excited to see Pooh, but that's because he is a cuddly bear, but no, people LOVE him. It's so fun when little kids come see Pooh and Pooh plays patty-cake with them. I wish people got excited when they saw me! Pooh hogs the spotlight! :) But I don't mind!

Also, I'm going to have great skin when I get back to Texas! For all the people that ask if "it's hot in there?" What do you think? First off, why are you asking? It's Florida. It's humid. And it's hot outside if you're wearing shorts and a t-shirt. So don't you think a bear with thick fur and a sweater would be hot? Yes, he's hot. But he doesn't let it bother him because he is a curious bear and is just excited to be there. I, on the other hand, am melting. Yes, it's hot. Yes, I feel gross from sweat. No, I'm not going to respond when you ask if it's hot "in there." Pooh is a bear, not a person in a costume. DUH.

Tomorrow is my last day of training. I hope it goes smoothly! All of the trainers keep saying how awesome my training group is doing. There are 10 of us total, all girls. We are having a lot of fun and making friends at the same time! It's so funny because whenever Pooh shows up, all of the trainees get so excited and just want to hug him! Even though they know some secrets behind the Disney magic. That always makes me smile. It's very reassuring too. These girls know what's going on, but they don't care! They see Pooh, a character they know and love from their childhood, and they are excited! That's what I try to focus on.

This is such a challenging job. The most challenging I've ever experienced, but I know that in the end I am going to learn so much from it! Right now though, I'm going to go eat some dinner and pass out! :)

First day of training!

Today was my first day of brainwashing -- err, training I mean! I've learned so many things today. My most recent realization is that it's the food. That's how they get you! There is special Disney magic in the food and that's how they get you on board for all of the crazy things your job entails. How else would they do it? I'm serious. You wake up in the morning and you're like, "Wow. 6 is really early." Then you get on the bus and you're like, "Yup, 7 sucks too." Then you go through class for 4 hours and you're like, "Wow. These people are super weird!" Then you go to lunch. And everything starts changing. But it's not just the food. There are crazy things that happen. Like Tarzan sits at the table next to you. (No joke, it really was Tarzan. Dreads and all...) And the only other girl who packed her lunch forgot it at home. How convenient, right? And me, little miss plan-ahead. I packed my lunch last night, but guess what I did?! I put the Mickey applesauce in my lunch! You think that's a coincidence? If you do, you're wrong. It's the Disney magic. Then you get back from lunch and everything is different! Suddenly, you're on board for ANYTHING. And I mean anything. Your trainers say headgear and you're like, "Yeah! Headgear!!" They mention chinstraps, "Bring it on!" Oh yeah, and you have to wash off any makeup you had on and put on sweatbands and skull caps like a surgeon, "SWEET! Let's do it!"

Anyone else think I've lost my mind? I sure do. But who cares!!? I had so much fun! I became very acquainted with Mr. Pooh Bear today. He is such a sweet bear. He's so loveable and hug-able and he just makes you feel happy! I have a feeling he and I will be great friends! He is a sweetheart. He even does his best to keep me warm when I'm cold. I can tell he is going to be a good friend to have around. I also got to see some mischievous chipmunks today, a goofy dog, a sweet puppy, and a humble mouse. We all had such a great time together. It was like play time all afternoon.

It's pretty ironic that I finally decided to live on my own and "grow up" at the one place that you never grow up! (Besides Neverland) I get to play pretend every single day. Is that not awesome? I get paid to spend my day like the average 4-year-old. I'M SO EXCITED!

Winnie the Pooh always brightens my day. I hope he brightens yours too!

Training starts tomorrow!

I can't believe training starts tomorrow! I feel like a five-year-old about to start kindergarten. I have NO idea what to expect! I just know to keep an open mind because so far everything has been so much fun. As I'm writing this, I would like to add that whoever being really loud upstairs, YOU ARE NOT WELCOME. The whole building is vibrating from the sound. It's like they are moving furniture around while listening to really loud music. It is not fun and they need to leave. Rant over. Back to Disney stuff.

Yesterday, after unpacking and getting all settled in, my roommate, Sarah, and I made dinner for all of our other roommates (neighbors). We made spaghetti and it was awesome. Today, we went on an adventure. We went to this super great store that is only for Disney cast members. Everything there was really cheap, so I saved lots of money! I bought some early birthday presents for people since it was so cheap. I even got some Mickey Mouse applesauce! I know everyone who reads this will be super jealous! After that, I went to Target with Kayla, one of my other roommates. I got all the way to the register and realized I forgot my Target giftcards at the apartment. That was a let down. Next time I guess! Tonight, Kayla made dinner for us! It's so nice having other people to take turns making dinner when we have the time rather than eating out every night or having to cook for one. I am so lucky and in turn very grateful.

As I said earlier, I feel like a little kid about to start kindergarten. I have to catch a bus at 7 AM, so I have my clothes all set out, my lunch made, and my breakfast on the counter. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, so I made sure to pack lots of snacks. I'm super nervous about trying on the costumes. I'm super nervous about everything actually. I don't know what character I am. I don't know who my trainer is. I don't even know where I will be tomorrow! All I know is that I work from 8:30 to 6:30. Yay 10 hour shift!

For now, I'm just going to drink my tea and then go to bed. I need to be well rested for tomorrow. Good night everyone and have a magical day tomorrow! :)

Apartment pictures!

Here are my apartment pictures! Our apartment is a one bedroom with one bathroom. We each get our own bulletin board and then a really big one to share!

One week down!

Alrighty, ladies and gentlemen, I have been in Orlando for a week now. I already feel like my head is going to explode. I have seen and heard so many new things that I almost can't believe it! This is such an overwhelming experience, but I am having so much fun!

After check-in on Monday, I had a housing meeting on Tuesday and then was off until Thursday. Thursday, I attended what is called "Traditions." Traditions is Disney's form of orientation. It's where you learn all about the company, take a quick tour, and receive your name tag and ID card. During Traditions, we also were rewarded any time we answered a question, so I got a little Daisy toy. :) I love my name tag, even though I will hardly get to wear it. We also got a surprise visit from Mickey, which was so exciting! Since I got my ID card at Traditions, I can now get into the parks whenever I want! That's super exciting. It's also an easy way to get a discount on pretty much anything in the Orlando area.

Yesterday, I had my Welcome to Entertainment class! It was so much fun! We got to learn all about the characters, see fun costumes, take a couple different tours and have tons of fun. Every day gets more and more exciting.

Today, my family and Michael headed back to Texas. I really didn't enjoy saying goodbye. I have been dreading this moment for weeks and weeks and finally last night I realized it was here. We all went to lunch together and nobody really said much. Especially me. I hardly ate because I was trying so hard not to be sad about the goodbye that was coming. After lunch, it was time to say goodbye. I knew if I wanted to be able to actually drive back to my apartment, it had to be quick, like ripping off a band-aid. So, I gave everyone a quick hug and quickly walked out to my car... in the rain. I only shed a few tears because I knew what I really needed was to be excited about the coming months. It wasn't as hard as I had thought it would be, so that's good. After I went home, I took a nice long nap and when I woke up, I went out with some of my roommates. (I say roommates even though they're technically my neighbors.) These girls are some of the nicest people. I can already tell that I am so lucky to have them around. We went to Hollywood Studios together for a few hours and then came home because everyone except me has to be up early tomorrow for training. I am so grateful that I did not have to sit alone at home all day.

I don't start training until Tuesday, so I'm definitely going to unpack tomorrow or Monday. And NO, I do not know what character I will be friends with yet. I wish I did :/ I'm still super excited for what is to come! I would like to leave everyone with one note:

There is only one Mickey Mouse! :)

Check in!

Yesterday is a huge blur. I'm pretty sure it was the longest day of my life, and as a result, I remember very little of it. We'll see how this goes.... My roommates and I (there are 6 of us total) got in line at 5 AM outside of Vista Way on Monday morning. Vista Way is one of the apartment complexes available to College Program participants and also one of the locations Disney uses for the check-in process. We sat in line, walked to the Walgreens across the street for snacks and bathroom breaks, and tried our best to stay awake. By a combination of poor planning and lots of excitement, most of us only had 3 or 4 hours of sleep under our belt, so we were exhausted. At 7:15, we were allowed inside the gate. At 7:40 we were moved to another line outside of a building and the check-in process began! Only one little hiccup occurred. As I stated earlier, we had a group of 6 hoping to live in one apartment. Due to a lot of rumors about its cleanliness and noise level, none of us wanted to live in Vista Way. I'm sure it's a lovely complex, but we wanted to make the safe call. So we said we would like Chatham Square or Patterson Court. Unfortunately, no 3 bedrooms were available. So we had two options. We could split up and live in Patterson, or live all together in Vista. We decided it would be best to split up. We ended up all being neighbors, in the same building, on the same floor! We are all in one bedroom apartments, sharing with one just person. So now, instead of sharing a fridge and pantry with 6 girls, we only have to split it between 2! And we all get our own closet which is nice! We also have a balcony which is apparently really cool if you are on the college program. I will definitely post pictures once I am all moved in! :)
After check-in, we got on a bus and headed over to the Casting Center. I can't give away too many details about Casting (gotta preserve the magic!), but I will say it was mostly just waiting in a series of lines for 2 hours. I think I may have signed my life over to Disney during that time. I'm not really sure.... Like I said before, the day is a blur. And I still haven't found out what my job is. Just a lot of, "Oh, make sure you stay hydrated!" and, "Good luck. You have a difficult job." and my favorite, "You're going to want to quit in the first week." Sounds promising, right? I'm just kidding. While I did hear all of those things several times, many other people told me how rare of an opportunity it is to work in entertainment with Disney and how lucky I was for being chosen. The excitement definitely built throughout this whole process!
The rest of the day was spent running errands. I also received my "Welcome to Florida" gift: A dent in my car and some lovely scratches. From what I have heard, getting rear-ended in Orlando is like seeing Mickey shirts at Disney. :/ Lots of tourists who don't know where they are going creates a lot of traffic problems. Yay!! Hopefully my car will get fixed and everything will be great! Regardless, I am so excited about my new apartment and all of the adventures that are coming my way!

Days 2 & 3: Crystal River, Florida & ORLANDO

Friday morning, we went to tour the USS Alabama! It was so cool to be able to see so much history on one battleship. It rained most of the time we were there. And, oh yeah, it's super humid! My hair was up in a ponytail before this adventure was over.

After touring the battleship, we continued our drive and after a short little nap, we were in Florida!! One of the coolest things about arriving in Florida is that they give you free juice at the visitor center! Small victories, right? :) Finally, after lots more driving, we made it to our destination for the night. We went to bed as early as we could because we had to get an early start this morning.

We were up and out the door before 7 AM this morning because we were going to go snorkeling with manatees!! If you know me, you know that I am afraid of water, a terrible swimmer, and I can't snorkel at all. This was destined to end poorly, but manatees are so cool and my whole family was so excited, so I decided I should be a good sport about it. In case you've never been snorkeling or scuba diving, wet suits are VERY difficult to put on or take off. That's all I'm saying about that. When we got on the boat, our captain took us down the river to a spring where the manatees like to hang out in the winter. The water was so clear. You could see everything! There weren't too many fish around there, so that was good for me. It was just nice, clear water. After we swam around in the spring for a little while, our captain decided it was time to actually see some manatees. So we left the crystal clear water and headed out back into the murky river water. We found a small group of manatees hanging out in some shallow water and our captain let us go into the water to swim with them. I lasted about fifteen seconds in the water before I decided to go back to the boat. My fear of the water won. It was really cool to see everyone else interacting with the manatees though! Michael and my family said that the manatees would just rub against you if you were in their way. I think that's pretty cool. I would have liked to have the view everyone else had, BUT I felt mighty safe on the boat, so I won't complain!

Later this afternoon, we all had lunch with some family friends that live near Tampa. It was good that I was able to see them before beginning my job with Disney because now, if I need anything, they said they will be there for me! This family is some of the nicest people I have ever met and I will definitely let them know if I ever need anything!

I finally made it to Disney!! Never mind the storm clouds, I was so excited to see this entrance! I can't believe we finally made it. I thought this day would never come and it's actually here. Only one more day until I check in and really begin my journey.

Michael and I spent most of the evening exploring. We went to Downtown Disney, the Disney Boardwalk, and then explored several resorts! It was so much fun, and it was really nice to have some time for just the two of us to hang out.

This sign is in the gift shop at the resort we're staying at, Pop Century Resort. It made me happy, so hopefully it makes everyone else happy. Goodnight, everyone!

Day 1: Mobile, Alabama

Well, I have officially left McKinney, Texas. We headed out at about 10 this morning and after a long day in the car, we arrived in Mobile, Alabama! My family had to take 2 cars. My parents and brothers were in the rental car, while Michael and I took my car. I made sure to pack my Tinkerbell doll with me because every trip to Disney needs a little Pixie Dust! :) We spent the entire drive listening to all of the CDs I packed, so we haven't had to search for radio stations at all! That's always exciting because I hate finding a good station and then having it taken away by the static.
It took about five minutes of me driving to realize that road trips are not my thing if I have to drive. So.... Michael drove about 8 or 9 hours and I drove 1 or 2! Poor guy. I spent the majority of the time in the passenger seat, hugging my turtle pillow pet, and passing in and out of consciousness.

On top of all of that, the last half of the drive was accompanied by some lovely rain. Yay for us. It sprinkled for about 5 seconds and then poured about 5 hours. Just another reason for me to be happy I wasn't driving. Luckily, we finally made it to Mobile, Alabama and our hotel room is room 1111! I feel like that's a very good sign! Dad thinks I'm crazy, but hey, I figure you gotta take whatever help you can get!

We have another long day of driving ahead tomorrow so I think bedtime is fast approaching. I'm pretty sure Michael is already passed out because I made him drive so much today. Maybe I will buy him a cookie tomorrow or something :)

Rest In Peace, George

In loving memory of my wonderful Betta, George. He passed away last night. There will be a ceremony in his honor following the publication of this post. Poor guy. He will remembered as the daredevil he was and will be greatly missed. Cheers, George.

Last Day In McKinney!

I can't believe this day is actually here. It has been six months since I found out I was accepted into the Disney College Program and I feel like the time has just flown by. I finally finished packing, for the most part. Everything has to fit into my car later tonight which will be a fun, little challenge. I'm a girl, therefore I over pack.

Last Saturday, I got to meet up with some of my former NorthStar teammates which was great. It was really nice to get to catch up with everyone and hear what everyone is up to. It was also a good opportunity to say goodbye to the people that I see more often, particularly Meredith. She is one of my closest friends And I will miss seeing her when she comes home.

Saturday night, my work friends threw a little going away party for me and then Sunday was my last day of work. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to tell everyone goodbye, but it was definitely hard to work when I was so distracted by everything else.

Monday, Michael and I went to the Dallas World Aquarium for one last adventure, just the two of us. We had a lot of fun. We always love going to the aquarium. After we got home on Monday, we had my going away party for my family and friends. It was exciting to be able to see everyone, but sad to say goodbye. It's so nice how interested everyone is in this journey of mine and I am nothing but excited for what is to come.

Also, I had some awesome Princess cupcakes!

Today is the day I get to run around frantically trying to get everything done. This should be fun! See you soon, Florida!

Packing, Packing, Packing

Today marks the beginning of August. That means everything is about to get really chaotic. I have already packed almost everything I need for the next five months and am just waiting for the day I leave. In just 8 short days, I will leave my home in Texas to join thousands of other college students to work at Walt Disney World Resort as a member of the Disney College Program. And, lucky me, I get to be a character! I can't wait to find out what is in store for me. I really hope I am able to keep up with the blog, because I think it will be something nice to look back on. For now, I need to keep packing. Here's how I see my next week going...

Sunday: Last day at my current job- Razzoo's
Monday: Aquarium day and going away party
Wednesday: Run around frantically trying to finish everything
Thursday: Let the journey begin! (AHHH!)
